About

An award-winning author, blogger and artist Lisa Begin-Kruysman is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. A former Human Resources Associate in the Entertainment Industry, she honed her writing skills with the Highlights Foundation, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Children’s Book Academy (CBA). Born the Year of and the Hours of The Dog, not surprisingly the author’s work primarily focuses on the human-canine bond. Serving as a Board Member for the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) her writing has garnered the organization’s prestigious Maxwell Medallion and a Special Award granted by the North Shore Animal League. A native of New Jersey, she currently calls rural Central Florida home where she blogs weekly for the Widow’s Voice, Soaring Spirits International and strives to be a good dog mom to an adorable pack of three.

Check out my blog posting for Widow’s Voice where I  share my personal experience of widowhood with those who know the struggles first-hand and to perhaps help those who struggle to understand the daily challenges facing those who’ve lost a spouse or significant other.
